Class Attire Requirements & Class Descriptions

Practice Attire Requirements:
* Shoes & Tights are available to purchase at the studio.
* Student must have proper attire to participate in classes.

Attire for all Recreational Dance Classes:
  • Clothing: Dancers in Jazz, Jazz/Ballet Combo, Jazz/Tap Combo, Hip Hop and Lyrical are welcome to wear any type of dance clothing such as leggings, tank tops, exercise shorts, etc. Students in pure Ballet classes should wear a leotard, pink ballet tights and ballet shoes. Ballet skirts are optional and should be thin and short. Please no large tu-tu's. 
  • Shoes: Please purchase shoes and/or tights for class in our studio store. We ask parents to purchase shoes at the studio to ensure the shoes are safe for students on our dance floor. 
    • ​Ballet Shoes are required for all Preschool Aged Dance Classes and Pure Ballet Classes. 
    • Turning Shoes are required for all Kinder-1st Grade Aged Classes and older for all jazz, lyrical, contemporary, & pure technique classes. 
    • Tennis Shoes of any kind are required for hip hop classes.
    • Tap Shoes are required for the jazz/tap combo classes.
  • Hair: Hair must be pulled back for class each week. A bun is required for pure ballet classes. 
Babies Movement Class:
  • Students are encouraged to wear fitted / stretchy type clothing to class. They are welcome to wear any type of clothing that they feel comfortable in. Students will have bare feet for class. 
Competition Dancers:
  • Information will be given to Competition Parents when teams are announced each June. 

Class Descriptions:

Class Descriptions:
  • Jazz, Ballet, and Contemporary/Lyrical classes focus on flexibility, strength, and strong dance technique. During these classes students will practice technique as well as learn routines. In these classes students will work on kicks, leaps and turns. 
  • Hip Hop classes focus on learning correct dance style, overall body strength, and help with learning choreography quickly. Hip Hop helps all types of dancers learn to move in a powerful/strong way! During these classes students will practice hip hop technique as well as learn routines.
  • Tap & Jazz Combo classes focus on both jazz technique (kicks, leaps, turns, etc), as well as tap technique. Routines will be learned as well. 
  • Babies Movement classes focus on developing a love for dance and moving their bodies! Students will learn all about how a dance class works, with their parents helping them along the way! Parents do not need to dance in class, and they do not need any dance experience. ​​​
